The iSYS 1 is a remotely controllable interventional device guidance system for image-guided interventions. The system consists of a robotic micro-positioning instrument aiming system and a unit for set-up on different imaging and treatment tables.
The following video demonstrates the efficiency of the iSYS 1 system.
The "iSYS 1 Fluoro" supports percutaneous interventions from head to toe, including tumor ablation (RF, IRE, CRYo, brachy), soft tissue and bone biopsies, direct drug injection, endoleak treatment, shunt placement, marker & guide wire placement and more.

RAISONS D’ETRE OF THE iSYS 1: SAFE DIRECT TARGETING
Exposure to non-prescribed ionizing radiation is a major concern in today’s Radiology setting, both for clinicians and for patients. It’s reduction, while ensuring optimal interventional accuracy and precision, is a raison d’etre of iSYS 1.
With the iSYS 1, there is no need to have „HANDS IN THE BEAM“.
Fast alignment under fluoroscopy, „One shot to the target“.
No hands in the beam: The user operates the iSYS 1 from a safe distance via a handheld control unit.
Unlike freehand, reaching the target via an image-defined mechanically guided path.
Higher confidence to reach targets within critical anatomy with minimal risk.
Higher confidence to reach small targets within critical anatomy with minimal risk.
Higher confidence to reach deep targets within critical anatomy with minimal risk.
Precision alignment with offline data and precision targeting when the target is in "focus".
Higher speed and efficency where multiple needles need to be placed (in parallel).
The narrow space between patient and gantry often requires a very compact flat guidance tool.
K-wire placement or bone biopsy drills.
In just 4 simple steps the procedure is completed !
STEP 1:
Patient stabilization with iFIX – sterile covering – gross positioning of robot in operating field.
STEP 2:
2D/3D Image acquisition – 2D/3D Path planning – Positioning of Gantry for the needle entry view.
STEP 3:
Micro-manipulation from safe distance - precision tool alignment under fluoro-guidance.
STEP 4:
Manual instrument positioning – verification any time before/during/after treatment.
All types of interventions with needles and needle type instruments performed under Fluoroscopy, e.g. biopsies, pain treatments, tumor ablation (RF, Micro-Wave, Cryo, IRE), marker and/or guide wire placement, K-wire placement etc.
ROBOTIC ALIGNMENT
From a safe distance via the handheld control unit: Sub-millimetric alignment accuracy without hands in the beam.
LOW PROFILE LIGHTWEIGHT ROBOT
With a direct fixation to the table : Instrument placement Inside and outside the gantry.
PLASTIC END-EFFECTOR
With various plastic needle guide inserts: Artifact-free alignment and high precision instrument guidance.
UPGRADABLE
Optional system upgrade with the iSYS 1 navi+ package, state-of-the-art 2D/3D planning and navigation Tools.
With these combined technologies every interventional Radiologist will be able to reach targets with the highest repeatable accuracy: making additional image-guided therapeutic methods possible in clinical practice.
